Bariatric Hospital Bed is a heavy-duty adjustable bed designed to safely accommodate patients exceeding standard weight limits, typically supporting 500–1,000 lbs depending on the model. It provides the same head and foot elevation functionality as a standard hospital bed with a reinforced frame, wider sleeping surface, and upgraded motor system capable of supporting bariatric patient weights.

Delivery requires two technicians due to the size and weight of bariatric bed components. OxyCare delivers, assembles, and sets up bariatric hospital beds with all required accessories including mattresses, rails, and trapeze bars. Rental is available.

Please follow instructions given by the equipment technician. Please follow your doctor's orders.

Set-up

1. Technician will set-up bed at your home. DO NOT move the bed.
2. Side rails should be in up position while patient is unattended.
3. Top Up arrow raises the head section. Down arrow lowers head section.
4. Bottom Up arrow raises the knee section of the bed. Down arrow lowers knee section.
5. Bed height can be controlled with the crank.
6. Demonstrate how to raise and lower side rails.
7. Demonstrate how to use controller.
8. Patient/Caregiver demonstrates each step and has a solid understanding.
9. Review how to order supplies. When to order. Where to call.

Cleaning

1. Bed frame can be wiped off with soapy water. Wipe soap off with a damp cloth.
2. Notify OxyCare of any operational problem. The bed is to be checked every three years in the home.

Safety

1. Do not use extension cords.
2. Do not have electrical cords or throw rugs near bed due to trip hazard.
3. Do not move your bed without permission from OxyCare.
4. Do not smoke in bed.
