Commode - Bari
Bariatric Commode is a heavy-duty bedside and over-toilet commode designed for patients weighing up to 650 lbs. It features a reinforced steel frame, extra-wide seat measuring 27" W × 18.5" D, and height-adjustable legs to accommodate bariatric patients who require safe, independent, or assisted toileting in the home or care setting.
The commode functions as a bedside toilet with bucket, or the bucket can be removed and the unit placed directly over the toilet for use as a raised toilet seat. OxyCare delivers and sets up bariatric commodes at the patient's location, and rental is available for short-term needs.

Please follow instructions given by the equipment technician. Please follow your doctor's orders.
Set-up
- Technician will set-up the commode at your home.
- Adjust the commode/bath seat to the proper height, adjust to the height that allows patient to stand from device.
- Adjustments are made by depressing the spring-loaded button and moving the foot piece to the desired height.
- Arms are used to guide the patient on and off the seat.
- Position commode bucket in proper place.
- Patient/Caregiver demonstrates each step and has a solid understanding.
- Review how to call for service. When to order. Where to call.
Cleaning
- Commodes/Bath Seats can be wiped off with soapy water. Wipe soap off with a damp cloth.
- Commode Buckets should be emptied after each use.
- Commode Buckets should be sanitized each day with disinfectant.
Safety
- Watch for trip hazards (cords, throw rugs, uneven surfaces).
- All feet on commode/bath seat must be the same height.
- Be sure pathways are clear for movement within the home, check doorways.
- Check for wear on the rubber tips after an extended period of use.
