Prefilled High-Humidity Humidifier Bottle combines the convenience of pre-filled sterile water with a larger capacity chamber designed to maximize moisture output for patients receiving high-flow or continuous oxygen therapy who are at elevated risk of airway drying. It is particularly useful in hospice and home care settings where respiratory comfort is a primary goal.

OxyCare supplies prefilled high-humidity bottles alongside oxygen therapy systems and can include them in regular supply deliveries for patients on continuous oxygen therapy.

Set-up

1. Place machine on a sturdy, flat surface near the patient.
2. Fill Humidifier bottle with distilled water. Adjust setting to 35% for room air.
3. Attach bottle to the compressor.
4. Attach large bore tubing to humidifier bottle. Cut to desired length.
5. At midway point attach water drain bag to trap excess water. Do not drain water back into bottle.
6. Attach large bore tubing to trach mask.
7. Set compressor to desired pressure ________psi (Range 20 to 40psi).
8. Plug machine into electrical outlet. Turn machine on. A fine mist should be present.
9. Patient/Caregiver demonstrates each step and has a solid understanding.

Cleaning

1. Use a clean set-up every 24 hours.
2. Wash humidifier bottle, tubing and trach mask in warm soapy water. Discard drainage bag.
3. Soak for 30 minutes in a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 4 parts water. Rinse well. Air dry.
4. Dispose of all disposable supplies after 2 weeks continuous use.
5. Check filters weekly, clean if necessary.

1. Make sure to keep set-up clean. Have spare components available at all times.
2. Be sure to use a safe electrical outlet and no extension cords.
