Raised Toilet Seat adds 3"–6" of additional height to a standard toilet, reducing the depth of sit required during transfers and making it significantly easier for patients with hip or knee limitations, lower extremity weakness, or post-surgical restrictions to use the toilet safely and independently.

Most raised seats clip securely to the toilet bowl rim. OxyCare supplies raised toilet seats as a standard bathroom safety accessory and can advise on the appropriate height increment based on the patient's mobility limitations.

Set-up

1. Technician will set-up the commode at your home.
2. Adjust the commode/bath seat to the proper height, adjust to the height that allows patient to stand from device.
3. Adjustments are made by depressing the spring-loaded button and moving the foot piece to the desired height.
4. Arms are used to guide the patient on and off the seat.
5. Position commode bucket in proper place.
6. Patient/Caregiver demonstrates each step and has a solid understanding.
7. Review how to call for service. When to order. Where to call.

Cleaning

1. Commodes/Bath Seats can be wiped off with soapy water. Wipe soap off with a damp cloth.
2. Commode Buckets should be emptied after each use.
3. Commode Buckets should be sanitized each day with disinfectant.

Safety

1. Watch for trip hazards (cords, throw rugs, uneven surfaces).
2. All feet on commode/bath seat must be the same height.
3. Be sure pathways are clear for movement within the home, check doorways.
4. Check for wear on the rubber tips after an extended period of use.
