Broda Thigh Straps

Broda Thigh Straps are padded positioning straps designed for use with Broda tilt-in-space chairs to keep the patient's thighs properly positioned within the seating system, preventing forward sliding and maintaining correct hip angle. They are particularly useful for patients with tone, spasticity, or poor trunk control who tend to migrate forward in the chair.

Thigh straps attach directly to Broda chair frames and are adjustable for patient size and positioning goals. They are recommended as part of a complete Broda seating setup for patients with complex postural needs. OxyCare stocks all Broda accessories to support comprehensive seating solutions.

Set-up

  1. Technician will set-up Broda Chair.
  2. Demonstrate all of the features.
  3. Patient/Caregiver demonstrates each step and has a solid understanding.
  4. Review how to call for service. When to order. Where to call.

Cleaning

  1. Chair can be wiped off with soapy water. Wipe soap off with a damp cloth.

Safety

  1. Apply brakes when transferring patient, or when chair is not being moved.
  2. Upon transfer into chair tilt sufficiently to prevent sliding or falling forward.
  3. Position feet on footrest and slightly to fully elevate footrest.
  4. Be sure pathways are clear for movement.
  5. Tilt the seat sufficiently to prevent chair from tipping forward or backward.
  6. The chair should only be used in a supervised area.
  7. Exercise caution when repositioning patient in the chair.
  8. The patient should be repositioned frequently.
  9. Chair must be used on a level surface. Indoor use only.
  10. Avoid placing the chair near handrails or other objects, fixed or movable.
  11. Patient should be fully clothed. Avoid contact of bare skin to the straps of the chair.
  12. Do Not use chair in the shower.

NOTE - Weight Capacity 660 pounds. An 18 inch 30VT weighs 87 pounds.
