Bariatric Bed Trapeze is a heavy-duty overhead grab bar rated for bariatric patient weights, designed to support larger patients in gripping and repositioning themselves in a bariatric hospital bed. A standard trapeze is not rated for bariatric use; the bariatric model ensures structural safety during patient-assisted movements.

OxyCare supplies bariatric trapeze bars alongside bariatric hospital bed setups and can retrofit them onto existing bariatric bed frames. Rental is available.

Please follow instructions given by the equipment technician. Please follow your doctor's orders.

Set-up

1. Technician will set-up trapeze bar.
2. Overbed trapeze will attach to your hospital bed, Freestanding trapeze is used with your home bed.
3. Position trapeze at the head end of the bed. Attach overbed trapeze to head board. Attach freestanding trapeze to frame provided.
4. Position height of trapeze at desired height.
5. Tighten all brackets and screws tightly.
6. Demonstrate how to operate trapeze.
7. Patient/Caregiver demonstrates each step and has a solid understanding.
8. Review how to call for service. When to order. Where to call.

Cleaning

1. Trapeze can be wiped off with soapy water. Wipe soap off with a damp cloth.

Safety

1. All brackets and screws must be securely tightened.
2. Do not use more than 250 pounds on trapeze.
3. Be sure there is adequate headroom for patient.
