Trilogy/Astral
Philips Trilogy and ResMed Astral are advanced home mechanical ventilators designed for patients requiring invasive or non-invasive ventilatory support for conditions including ALS, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, COPD, and other causes of respiratory failure. These devices provide a full range of ventilation modes including volume control, pressure control, and spontaneous/timed modes.
OxyCare supplies home ventilators alongside all required circuits, interfaces, filters, and consumables, and works with clinical teams to ensure proper setup and caregiver training. Rental is available for qualifying patients.

Please follow instructions given by the equipment technician. Please follow your doctor's orders.
Set-up Trilogy
- Plug unit into grounded outlet.
- Connect circuit to Trilogy unit.
- Connect appropriate interface to circuit. i.e. mask, trach elbow.
- Attach Humidifier if indicated.
- Hang Water Bag.
- Attach Humidifier Chamber to Water Bag with supplied tubing.
- Turn Unit on.
- Set prescribed settings.
- Set alarm parameters.
- Apply interface to patient.
- Refill Water Bag as needed.
- Review alarm conditions with patient and/or caregiver.
- Patient caregiver gives return demonstration.
- Review how to reorder supplies.
- Review contact phone number - when and where to call.
Cleaning
- Outside of unit may be cleaned as necessary by wiping with clean cloth.
- Change interface weekly if using trach elbow or in-line suction catheter.
- Change mask interface as needed.
- Change circuit and heater chamber every two weeks.
- Check air filter weekly, clean if needed.
- Call Oxycare for questions or assistance.
- Unit cleaned and disinfected on return to Oxycare.
Safety
- Do not use extension cords.
- Use grounded outlets.
- If electrical safety in question, recommend electrician be called.
